MINI AT PRESCOTT
with The Sporting Minis
Hello Mini enthusiasts!
We have tried here to summarise how to engage with the Mini Festival at Prescott on August 16th 2025, whether just visiting, competing or you just want to drive your car up the historic hill.
Although we have tried to be as accurate as possible, everything below is a guideline and the onus is on you to get everything right, so we accept no liability for any problems that may arise from the way the information is interpreted.
The main thing is to get plenty of like minded people to the event....

HOW TO ENTER
Enter as a competitor
The entry procedure at Prescott can be baffling until you have done it a few times, so if you are a new competitor start off here:
https://www.prescotthillclimb.co.uk/competitor-registration
Fill in all your details. If you are entering a road class, a lot of the safety, such as FHR, Extinguishers etc are not needed so just put N/A in the boxes. If you have applied for a new licence and it hasn't arrived yet, you should have a document from the MSA you can upload to say it's on the way, which is also good for the event.
When you have your login back from BOC, go to the same page but now select 'Manage Entries'.
Scroll down and select 'Jump to Enter Events'. Choose the Mini Festival.
You are now entered!
NOTE: You can click on the right hand box and see who else is competing...
PAYMENT: Go back to 'Manage Entries' but this time go to the menu across the top and select 'Payment'.
This sends you to the payment page.
Once complete you are all set! Now get out there and check you car is spot on, as you want to win...
Any problems, mail comps@bugatti.co.uk. Dom is very helpful, and don't forget, their goal is to get people competing, not turn them away.
🚨 ENTRIES CLOSE – 4th August, 2025 🚨
FUN RUNS OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED FOR THE AFTERNOON
Enter the Fun Run
Fun runs are £65 for 4 runs. The fun runs will be bought in blocks of 4 at a time and you'll have dedicated paddock parking. You can book your run by clicking 'book your Fun Run here' below. Select 'Mini Car Hill Drives Entry'.
- For non-competitive "fun" runs at MSA events an RS Clubmans license is needed for drivers and passengers (over 16) which is free. You can find it here: https://www.motorsportuk.org/competitors/rs-clubman-licence/
- Non-competitive runs do not need safety gear
- Car MUST be fully road legal
WHAT YOU NEED
*Competitor info only, see above for fun run requirements
Competitor
- RS Interclub license. Find out more here: https://www.motorsportuk.org/competitors/competition-licences/
- Car built to specs, either race or road legal [see regulations]
- Flame resistant overalls to this spec: FIA 8856-2018, FIA 1986 Standard E.g. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/omp-sport-race-suit-in-black-fia-approved
- Gloves E.g. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/omp-sport-race-gloves-7001785/
- Helmet to one of these specs: 8859-2015 or 8859-2024 E.g. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/bell-mag-helmet-2013927/
- HANs or FHR device is required for modified cars E.g. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/stand21-club-series-fhr-device-349958/ [Not needed for standard class and road class cars]
- Racing boots are not mandatory
- Timing Strut - Your car must be fitted with a timing strut - a black blade as described here. People have made them from cardboard and black insulating tape but an aluminium thing is a bit better!
This is what the MSA have to say 'Timing Struts – Where timing is activated by a light beam, the vehicles will be fitted at the front with a vertical timing strut, minimum vertical height 254mm, the bottom of which shall be not less than 180mm and no more than 200mm from the ground. The strut will be in matt black on both sides, over its total area, which shall be not less than 254mm by 51mm. No other, or further forward, part of the vehicle may interrupt these dimensions or actuate the timing.' E.g. https://bofiracing.com/body-styling/exterior/number-plates/jass-performance-timing-strut-beam-breaker-for-mazda-mx-5-na-nb/
- Towing loop - E.g. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=towing%20eye%20strap
- Logbooks - these have been a bit of an issue as they got introduced, so have a look here and make sure you are up to speed. Standard and road cars with all the docs are fine, it's the competition cars that need MSA logbooks.
This is what the MSA have to say: '9.1.7. All cars competing in Hill Climbs or Sprints must be presented for scrutineering with a valid Competition Car Log Book/Vehicle Passport or an MSA/Motorsport UK Recognised Vehicle Identity Document unless the car is currently licensed for use on the public highway and is competing in a road legal condition. The onus of proof rests with the competitor. (See 10.11.)' If you want to view the full works about hillclimb and sprint regs click the link below.
Standard and road cars
Standard and road carsSections 10,11, and 12 of the hillclimb and sprint regs explain standard and road cars. There's only a page or so! Essentially, standard cars don't need anything except front and rear towing loops a red arrow showing the direction of your ignition off like this ⬇️ You can fabricate one out of red insulating tape!

* The general Prescott Regulations below will provide all the information about how the meeting will run.
